Quick, come and have a look at these gorgeous cards with me!!! Aren’t they stupendous!!

Can you guess who made them? Or course you can. It’s Laura of Sweets and Greets! She’s the amazing talent behind these beautiful creations. Lots of hugs and kisses to you Laura, you’ve made my day!
Laura took my new shop design (the brain child of Mrs Manamoon *waves to Sharon*) and turned it into beautiful handmade cards and tags. Everything now coordinates
and I feel terribly chic! *flicks hair nonchalantly* I know my customers are going to love these delightful cards. It’s a very special personal touch that will complete my jewellery parcels.
What a wonderfully talented team of ladies Inspiration Avenue is!!
I’m grinning from ear to ear!!! Can you see me?

Meet and Greet - Harmony Quest Designs

It's my pleasure to introduce our newest team member, Dawn of Harmony Quest Designs. Dawn was introduced to us by our own lovely LuLu and we couldn't be happier to have this talented and wonderful artist among our group.

Over the past week I've had the pleasure to get to know Dawn and I must say she embodies all the elements this team holds so dearly. A wonderful supportive mother of two daughters, Dawn is a self taught graphic artist who enjoys spending time in her studio working on computer graphics as well as a gorgeous selection of Cottage style creations.

Dawn describes her work in the following: "Although I have many creative interests, my Etsy Shop reflects my passion for creating digitally. This is done with photo editing software and many different images that I collage together to form a new, unique piece of digital art. I then incorporate these designs in to functional items that my customers may want such as; art collages for home decor, gift tags, and collage elements for other artists to create with."

While filling out our team application Dawn was asked to name a creation of her own work she liked the best and why. Dawn selected this creation and here is what she shared: "I love palaces and the history and culture they represent. This digital collage was made up of several different elements; the actual staircase that is in the background is an image from a real palace... the foreground room is completely digitally collaged on to it. So much fun!"

Dawn expressed her interest in joining our team because she was: "...looking to be a part of a team who is supportive and encouraging of one another with a positive mindset; a team that is diverse enough to contribute fresh ideas while keeping similar interests and goals."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves and we're absolutely delighted to have Dawn as the newest member of our team! You can find a link to Dawn's shop in the coming days and her blog included in our list, both on the sidebar of our blog. Welcome Dawn!!

Art on a Post Card

Our resident painter and artist Angie of Artangel is participating in an exhibit for Post Card Art Show run by i-Candy arts. This show is now in it's third year.

Taken from Angie's blog, she writes...

"It is an open submission for any kind of visual art, provided it's the size of a post card - hence the name! Well, actually, the permitted size for artwork is 6x4", though I discovered that most postcards these days actually seem to have shrunk to 5.5 x 3.5" (deflation? global warming??) but that's another story.

The show attracts entries from artists from all over the UK, and work has included paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints, collage, written work and stained glass.

This year the show will be held at the Eat@Ours CafĂ© in Hastings, East Sussex, throughout March. I love the idea of accessible, affordable art - all work in the show is for sale at a flat rate of £10 and can be taken away there and then."

What a wonderful opportunity for this talented artist and we wish her the best of luck with a wealth of exposure. Great job Angie!!

Info for logging on to our Flickr account can be found in our team community Forum. As you load images to our account they will be added to the slide show on our blog sidebar.

This will also be a wonderful tool when submitting to Etsy's The Storque! For more information on Flickr please click here to visit their blog for a description and list of available tools for use with Flickr accounts. I'd like to give a special thanks to Catherine for all her work in providing us with a new Flickr identity. So give it up girls... Catherine, you rock!!

Celebrating the Etsy Way

I am happy to announce we now have a team buyer's account with Etsy and to celebrate we have a little team Treasury I just created. Given the fact that we're still only 7 members strong *smiles* there was a bit of duplication of shops and yes I broke the dreaded rule and included one of my own pieces in the Treasury, yikes!

So although our little Treasury won't make front page we're sure to gain some exposure and that's always a great thing! I'll post the log-on info for our team buyer's Etsy account on our community. Feel free to log on to our team Etsy account anytime to create an Etsy mini for your website or blog.

A "little" Update

I have been scouring the Etsy Team pages and wanted to pass along a few updates...
  • I submitted our team blog to the Etsy team blog ring. This will assist us in gaining exposure through their ring and allow us the opportunity to be featured. We should be hearing back from Etsy during the first week of the next month which would be March.
  • We also have the opportunity of submitting to The Storque (Etsy) should we decide to have an event such as a sale. In preparation for such an event let me know if you're interested AND be sure that our team tag is listed on at least a few of your shop listings. The team tag can be found on the front page of our team community. If you would like more information please feel free to visit the The Storque article by clicking here.
  • The first Etsy Team monthly chat will be Wednesday, February 18th at 7pm EST. I will be making every effort to attend at they will be discussing a wide range of subjects including some of the best ways to promote teams. I'll be sure to fill you in on all I find out through the coming days by posting a followup in the forum of our team community.
  • I would like to open a team buyers account on Etsy as a way of creating Etsy minis featuring items from our member's shops. We will then be able to post the minis on our blogs or websites to promote our shops. Please feel free to let me know if you have a favorite piece you would like included in this mini as it will be based off of the account's favorites.
  • Lastly I would like to open a team Flickr photo profile. This is an important tool when submitting to The Storque as they gather photos from Flickr for these features. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Flickr photo profiles, in essence Flickr is a free online location to post, share and comment on photos from around the world but beyond that I've found it's a wonderful way to gain exposure for your work. As an example, my Flickr profile is how Belle Armoire Jewelry found me last year to request I submit for publication. I will post the log-in information on our team community so all of you can access the account to load photos of your work.
I know I've posted alot here to digest so please feel free to leave comments or questions either here or within out team community through the forum. Thanks ladies!

Whoot Whoot for Sharon!

I just received my copy of the Spring 2009 issue of Stringing Magazine in the mail yesterday and there on page 9 was our own lovely Sharon's design that won second place! The challenge theme was "Flower Power" for this contest. Sharon's design featured amazing polymer-clay flower beads by Zuda Gay Pease incorporated in with ribbon, seed beads, crystals and sterling silver. This issue will not be out on the stands until February 24 so I scanned the page in so everyone could see!

Congratulations Sharon!

Love,
LuLu~*xoxo

Inspirational Treasury

Ooh my first ever post here - I'm nervous lol!

I just managed to grab a Treasury, which as Sharon will tell you is some feat for me! My computer is rather poorly and currently shows 6 years behind, so for me every Treasury list says "expires in 6 years" - which doesn't make it easy!!

Anyway, I kept an eye out in the Forums and Twitter, saw a Treasury alert and managed to get this one! I've featured some lovely work from the team, as well as a couple of other favourites!

Feel free to click away - wouldn't it be great if we got to the front page!

It's Official

Drum roll please... it's officially official! *smirk* We're now listed on the Etsy Teams page, WoooHooo! It's been a long time coming and heaven knows I'm insanely relieved, phew!

Now there's loads to do like add our team blog to the Etsy Team blog ring, so keep those fabulous posts coming on our blog with all your gorgeous creations! Many times the Etsy blog will feature creations from the team's blogs and included photos in their mass emailings as well. Can we say exposure!?! Whoot!

Oh, and an F.Y.I... the team roster isn't updated on our current members list but rather the original list. I did send in an update so that should be reflected shortly. ;-)

Wickedly Chic

I just wanted to send a quick word to everyone that the website that Sharon was telling us all about earlier, Wickedly Chic, has brought me 6 sales over this past weekend. Whoot! Every one of these sales came directly from that website. I actually purchased ad space for a discounted price of $10.00 a week to run for 4 weeks. I am not sure if they still have any ad space left at that price but if you email Liz, she will be glad to help you. Her email address is liz@wickedlychic.com.
Off to doodle!

Meet and Greet - Rocki's Supplies

I'm happy to announce and introduce our newest team member, Rocki of Rocki's Supplies. Rocki is well... Rockin'. A wonderful jewelry designer turned jewelry supplier Rocki creates her own handmade jewelry supplies from a selection of precious and semi precious metals. Visit her shop and you'll find an amazing collection of original designs in earwires, closures and much more. There's always something new being created by this talented artist who first began with her "Signature Elfin" earwires and continues today with her latest addition "Twist and Wrap".

I had the pleasure of ordering some custom designed earwires from Rocki and what a treat it was. She worked with me to understand my vision and came up with exactly what I was looking for. Many of her original designs begin as custom orders by customers and end up as very popular items in her shop.

Beyond Rocki's Supplies is the wonderful mother, sister, and friend. Those of us who've had the fortune of getting close to Rocki are very familiar with her delightful charm and fabulous whit as well as a spirit of generosity and immensely caring heart. Rocki is yet another treasure in this world and will be a welcome addition to our team.

New Creation in My Shop

Taking advantage of our team blog with a little shameless plug I'd like to announce that I've posted a new item in my treasures shop. One of my UFOs (unfinished objects) has found it's way past my work desk and into my shop inventory.

There are two stands of fibers resting alongside the elongated brass chain, one creamy wispish and the other shimmering mocha. Oodles of Czech glass in aqua, amber and mocha are highlighted with delicately stamped bead caps and sparkling faceted crystals. The main focal features an art nouveau stamped connector, Czech glass, a tiny aqua flower and Sterling Silver and a patina brass crown. I had such fun creating this piece and love all the details.
