Weekly Challenge Dec27-Jan 2 New Year-New Challenge

Here we are at the beginning of a new year. Wow, time seems to move quickly. The start of a new year gives us the opportunity to reflect on the past year and get a peek into the future.

For the past 30 years, some of my family and like-minded friends get together on New Year’s Eve for a celebration.  Ours is not the traditional celebration but a contemplative celebration. We sit around and talk about the past year; did we meet the goals we had set up for ourselves last December 31? We share our triumphs and goals not met (mine is usually not meeting my weight loss goal :-) . We do have many snacks, goodies and chocolate to help us through the process .We write down the things or goals we would like to accomplish for the New Year. We seal the goals in a envelope and someone in the group mails our envelope to us in July.

Your challenge is to look at your craft or art and ask yourself have you accomplished what you wanted to this past year. What are your goals for the next year? Is there something that you have been thinking about in your craft? A new direction perhaps? Take a leap into the New Year and give us a glimpse of where you want your art to be by the next New Year's Eve.

Happy New Year
Linda (BeckLee)

What an interesting and original New Year challenge Linda! I'm really looking forward to putting some thought into this. I think it would be good to use your idea of reviewing in July too!

OK - I already posted my link earlier (2nd comment) but your challenge actually got me thinking a bit more and I wound up constructing another site simply dedicated to my one-line drawings (I hope to do one a day as I head into this new year...)

you can see that site here: http://dthaase.tumblr.com/

(feel free to chooses whatever image you like the best as the one you post in the submission list for the challenge) - I look forward to your challenge each week! Thanks

This is a wonderful challenge! I posted a response, and I really thought a great deal while I posted. So, I think this means I followed the challenge thoroughly, but the wording of my blog is a bit long. Hope everyone is having a wonderful N.Y.E. !!

HI guys.

I made a mistake this morning. I accidentally posted a blog entry on here instead of my own blog.

Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to keep my blogs a little more organized.

Hi :D

I'm compiling a short list of art challenges on my website - http://inspired.gumnut.net/challenge-directory/ - and yours is one of the first ones I thought to add. I just thought I'd let you know you are listed and if you see anything you'd like to change about how I've summarised the challenge, please let me know and I'll fix it asap.

Thanks for all your hard work with this challenge. I've been watching for a couple of months now, and while I haven't posted to a challenge here as yet, I'm hoping to in the new year.

Happy New Year to everyone at Inspiration Ave! I've been pondering this since you posted (what great food for thought) and hope to post about it at some point, though I know it won't be by the challenge deadline!
