"Learn Your Lesson" - Blog Party!!

Welcome!
Come right in and join the party!
Thank you so much for leaving a comment below
with a link to your "lesson"!
There's plenty of room for more ~
would you like to share your tutorial?
All of our guests, party-lovers,
tutorial gurus, and lesson masters:

Have you been polishing up your words of wisdom and fine tuning your photos? The time is drawing near for the first annual Inspiration Avenue
"Learn Your Lesson" Blog Party!

Welcome to our blog party this May first and second!
The price of admission is just a bit of sharing so that everyone takes away a lesson, tip, or tutorial to spark our creativity, make life easier, or just become a little happier!
Sounds simple, right?

No one can say it better than our own Lisa,
so here is a quote from the original party post:
"We thought it would be terribly good fun to roll our sleeves up and learn something new. We'd love you all to share a lesson with us - perhaps you might have a photoshop trick you can explain? Maybe you know how to transfer images successfully? How do you glue paper without leaving bubbles? Do you have a recipe that no longer needs to remain a secret? Can you tell us how to make clay beads without cracks? To bleach a photograph or make something furry and felty? You may even just like to list your favourite tutorial sites. Anything goes, just bring your special gift to the party by way of a link to your own blog post and take away a goodie bag of lessons to try out for yourself."

Here's how it works:

Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog,
where you have posted your tutorial.
We'll add it to our sidebar so the partygoers
can visit your blog and learn a thing or two!
If you so kindly left a comment on our first post on April 4,
would you leave another here if you still want to participate?

We're so happy you're here!

Weekly Challenge - "Fairy Tales"

Once upon a time in a magical land far, far away there lived...

An artist who dreamed of adventures beyond her kingdom. Every day she would paint the scenes of her dream world and close her eyes at night with thoughts of elves and pixies, gallant Knights, courageous Princesses and legendary creatures inhabiting her land of Nod.

One day, as she stood gazing across her Kingdom, her mind with the inhabitants of her imagination, she spotted something fluttering in a tree nearby. She thought at first a bird had become trapped in the tightly woven branches but once she stepped closer she discovered to her surprise a fairy. The tiny creature glittered with magic and our artist friend was nervous to approach, but there was something about the winged creature that drew her closer. She saw that the fairy's soft wings had become entangled in the thorns that grew there so she carefully pulled them away until they were free.

"Why thank you" said the fairy in the sweetest voice ever heard. "For your kindness, I will grant you a wish for I am the keeper of fairy tales and it is my job to make them come true. Which of yours can I conjure up for you?...

To be continued.... by the visitors to our challenge.

Yes readers, your challenge is to create a piece based on the theme of 'fairy tales' - let your imagination soar and share with us your creations in the comments field.

As next week is our blog party we are extending the duration of this challenge to two weeks, so all entries should be in by 12pm EST on Sunday 9th May... when they will magically appear the other side of this mirror...

Weekly Art Challenge "Magical Transformations"

This weeks challenge is "Magical Transformations" Something that started out in this life as one thin and then became another, such as this chrysalis became a butterfly. It might be clay or pottery that becomes a piece of jewelry or a plain canvas that becomes a mixed media piece or a gorgeous painting, it may be a photo of a bud and an open flower, it might be a playing card turned into a beautiful  ATC or an ugly duckling something that transforms into something special, or whatever you think fits the theme.
If you'd like to participate in this week's challenge simply write up a post on your own blog and come back and leave the link in your comment on this post, so we can share all of the submissions next Sunday.Remember by participating you are automatically put in our monthly giveaway. We'd love it if you would grab our weekly art challenge button and added it to your sidebar. It's such a treat to see how each weeks challenge is interpreted. One lucky participant will win something special from our fellow teammate, Luthien. It's sure to be something very special. Have fun with this challenge! Happy Creating!
I hope everyone's weekend was as beautiful
as this week's submissions.
