considering i am irish, from both sides nontheless, i had to make that the theme for this week's challenge!
it is a huge day of celebration in both the religious and secular communities....and internationally too!
just a wee couple bits of history on saint patrick...aka the patron saint of ireland....
he is believed to have lived 387 - 461 ad
he has been credited for bringing christianity to ireland and he used the shamrock to teach the holy trinity...
a common folklore is he chased away all the snakes in ireland...but it's also been said maybe they were never there in the first place because the island separated from the rest of the continent after the "ice age"....who knows!
so put on your creative hats and think green and gold, shamrocks, parades, leprechauns, good luck, spiritual renewal, corned beef and cabbage and of course.... the guiness of all beers!
don't forget to plant your peas!
you know the drill..right? leave your comment here with a link to your entry and i'll gather them up next sunday by noon. come back sunday evening and they'll all be here!

What a fun challenge Pat! I too am Irish. Hence the reddish brown hair, green eyes and fair skin. I love the 2 images you chose. I wonder how much dye they have to use to dye a river. Sheesh!
The old leprechaun looks perfect.
