Aged Beauty

Wow!! It’s seems like a long time ago since I hosted a challenge at Inspiration Avenue. So when Shel asked me if I would like to do one … I said yes immediately!

This week I have chosen two words which remain my constant inspiration when making art … Aged Beauty. Aged Beauty can come in any form … patina of time, ravages of time, treasured memories, people from the past, or even tales of old. Create something … anything, in this theme, in your chosen medium. You can choose something old to start with, or you can choose to make something look old. Dream it and create it!

As always, deadline is 12noon EST on Sunday 27th Nov 2011. Please direct us straight to the post of your creation and we will take over from there. One entry per person and links should be left on this post. Further guidelines on our weekly challenges can be found on the sidebar.

Here are some images that I find inspiring … perhaps they might inspire you in some way too …

I will leave you with a little quote I found :

Age is not all decay; it is the ripening, the swelling, of the fresh life within, that withers and bursts the husk.
~ George MacDonald ~

Luthien! We have missed you! I'm so happy you came back to bring us an amazing challenge. This is so inspired, so "you", and very thought-provoking. I love it, and love the inspiration photos!

Shel, You kept this a secret! Very good idea to go and tag Luthien to be our surprise host :)

I loved this theme but felt like I didn't have the time to devote to finishing it to match what's in my head. I really MUST go deal with cleaning the house for company. Really, I'm going to shut it down now. Right...now! :)

I made this on the fly on Tuesday before all the fun and madness of the Thanksgiving weekend started. Since I always post my IA challenge on Friday, I had this one scheduled. Of course, at the time, I forgot I had to leave the link. So before I head out and about looking for bargains with friends and company, here is this week's entry from Bleubeard and myself:

Needless to say, if you live in the States, I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful.
