Weekly Art Challenge June 25 ~ July 1
Art Journaling

So much has been written about art journaling that
it's mind-boggling to select a few sample images for this post.
Quite possibly, you all have done some art journaling,
or are even an Art Journal Guru!

SanArty Designs

The great thing about art journaling
is that there's no need to strive for perfection...
it's your very own journal ~ you can show your pages
(and I hope you will since that is the subject of this challenge!)
or keep them private for your eyes only.
The important thing is that you have committed to paper some
thoughts, ideas, hopes, dreams, or fears
and it will help you to move forward to better self awareness.
Or if great introspection is not your thing, it's a way to try out
some awesome new art techniques and tools!

One of my very FAVORITE art journalers is
Her art is wonderfully colorful and quirky.

Art journaling gives you the opportunity
to get out all the art supplies you own,
then go online or to the art store and buy even more,
and use them all on one page! LOL!

Use:
stamps
paint
colored pencils
pastels
markers
pens
graphite
book pages
magazine pictures
scrapbook papers
photographs
ephemera
buttons
string
fabric
yarn
jewels
feathers
and more, I'm sure

I'll leave you with links to some entertaining and informative
videos and courses, very inspiring!

A free online art journaling course by Tam of Willowing:
I've taken this course and it's awesome!

(Not free, but totally worth the price!)

I hope you've been inspired to create some journal pages
and share them with us! Get creative!

Guidelines are in the sidebar, if you need them.
At this point, I'm not sure if we will have Mr. Linky up in time,
so post a link to your blog post in the comments section.

Thanks for playing! Post your link by Sunday, July 1,
noon eastern time. (How can it be almost July already???)

Note: We now have Mr. Linky available!
Don't worry, if you have already left your link
in the comment section, we will be sure to include it!

P.S. Here is a link provided by Lou Anne,
to download a free eBook on art journaling
from Cloth Paper Scissors.

You will have to create a free account with them...
I was not a member, but it was very easy to join and download the file.
Happy journaling!

Mister Linky's Magical Widgets -- Thumb-Linky widget will appear right here!
This preview will disappear when the widget is displayed on your site.

Oooh! I have always wanted to do this, particularly an art dream journal. Ha! Now is my chance!

Art Journaling is my primary form of art. I made an "anatomy of an art journal page" at my blog: http://marciabeckett.blogspot.com/2012/06/anatomy-of-art-journal-page-edition-3.html

This has tied in nicely with our RR journals. Thanks for all the inspirational links Maggie!

I'm never sure whether Mr Linky has worked. If not it is the latest post on my blog. I'll check back later to be sure.

Hugs
Kat Xx
